Introduction
Shree Bhagawati Higher Secondary School has
been situated at Shankharapur-10, kathmandu in central part of Nepal. It is 17
km far from the kathmandu main city. There are
Bajrayogini, Suntole, Pukhulachhi
, Indrayani and Lapshephedi VDCs in the surrounding. There is beautiful temple
of Bajrayogini near Sankhu which is ancient l and religious place where thousands of pilgrims come from
the different parts of Nepal to worship Goddess Bajrayogini. There is a big
gathering of devotees in Magh month
according to Bikram calendar for Swasthani
brata near Shalinadi of
Sankhu.About 90 percent of people living
here are indigeneous. Newari ethnic group
and only a few number is of the Brahmins, Chettri, Tamang, Gurung and
Magar in the surrounding.There are old and traditional type of houses with
historical and cultural gates which have unique and special related with Newari
culture. The School has no
sufficient infrastructures of
development for educating the children .
The school has been struggling since its
establishment in 2039 B.S.
Nowadays its position seems to be unbelievable or
remarkable. The development part of the school reflects the real situation of
the community people and negligence as well as ignoring behavior of concerning
organization and people working at higher level. So, a great effort is
necessary to change the present condition of school for bringing positive change
in the life of community people regarding their livelihood, attitudes and
thinking. Although there are four government schools and four private schools
in Sankhu community the deprived students from poor families come to this
school.
The school was established as a primary
school formally in 2039 B.S. at the
centre of the Pukhulachi VDC ward No:8, Sankhu, to provide equal opportunity to
the guardians and local villagers. In the preliminary situation, even though it
had no its own land. By the efforts of supportive
hands and enthusiastic team of the principal the school existed. Later the
district education office
provided the salary for a teacher. Slowly and gradually, it was promoted. Due to the lack of appropriate
place, it was shifted to Taleju Temple. Along with advent of student’s density,
changing time and demand of time. There was the necessity to increase the
number of facilities. Paying attention to those challenges, the local people
went ahead and showed their duty and responsibility towards their birth place.
The school building constructions committee constructed its building in 2049.
The school upgraded to secondary level in 2056.
Now the school is going on the process of
development smoothly with the direct and indirect helpful hands of the local
people and social workers, there are needy physically facilities, almost basic
needs like electricity, water supply, communication, class rooms and toilet are
fulfilled all the staffs of the school and other local people have already
started Higher secondary level in this School in 2068 BS in Management faculty
and now running management and education faculty.
